Captain for a Day & Lake Party– July 25th
What a Great day!
As to be expected the Dawn of Hope residents and their staff had a marvelous day
on Boone Lake, and as always, expressed their sincere gratitude for this
wonderful event. It turned out to be a perfect day with amazing weather and
calm "seas". After an interesting morning of lake navigation by the residents
we headed for "Tucan Landing" for lunch with the Dawn of Hope crew then
departing post festivities with their grab bags in tow. Untold Thanks goes out
to all of those who donated and participated in bringing a day of joy to these
folks.
Shortly thereafter, our annual Lake party ensued with an awesome
turnout! For those of you who couldn't make it, we missed you. The mashers got
to enjoy jet skiing, boating and priceless friendship at lakeside. Aaron and
Cindy Hawkins provided their homemade pork barbeque which was spectacular!
(Actually I'm craving some now...) and of course we had all the "fixins"
that were fat-free. Profuse Thanks goes out to Alan Stevens and Wayne/Debbie
Bays for hosting the party! Let's continue in future years to make this a
special day!

I want to thank all of the following for their part in making Captain for a Day
successful. Those who provided boats a big thank you. We couldn't have done it
without you. To those Mogul Mashers who had as much fun as the
residents, Sonny's Marina who was gracious enough for us to use their
dock, Hallmark cards who provided balloons, to all those who provided items for
the gift bags, The Dance's for providing
Captain For A Day
hats,
to Veronica who made the great cupcakes, the Mabry's who provided pictures and
frames, to the Bays and Stevens for letting us use their dock for lunch. Thank
you each and every one of you who participated in this great event.
I thank you because this is a group effort and shows what a great
club we are.
The residents had so much fun. Some even ask when are we getting our
presents. They remembered.
On
this day it maybe God's way of showing all of us how blessed we are.
Also, a really big thank you to God for such a beautiful day.

The
Capitan for a Day event was another huge success this year. The Dawn of Hope
residents & families really enjoy and appreciate the boat outing and look
forward to it every year. I would like to thank everyone involved whether you
supplied a boat, supplies for the gift bag, or helped out on the boats – it was
an excellent ETMM team effort. A special thanks to Betsy Pearce for
coordinating the event this year.
