Aspen-Snowmass – January 14-21, 2006
Aspen - French word for I spend or you spend depending on your
perspective. Thus we didn't spend very much after we arrived. We did see that
you could spend a lot of money if you wish! It was like little kids looking
through the window, ok to look but you can't come into the candy store! OH what
a place the snow was immaculate, and the runs where all challenging. But enough
about me, anytime you can go out west the skiing is so much better than south
eastern skiing. ETMM brought home a lot of hardware, so of my own, my first
GOLD NASTAR medal, plus a few other tokens of my skiing ability, and a lot more
by the other ETMM MEMBERS.
One member stands out for myself, my skiing pardoner, she started
out on Monday with a 71 handicap, and ended the week with a 46 NASTAR handicap
and two bronze medals and two silver medals pretty good for someone that has
only ran gates twice and has never raced in serious competition. My hat is off
to too Helga Mitchell, Mark (Mabry) you may need to recruit her she is sure she
can get a GOLD, I am sure she is very competitive and can achieve any goal she
set's!
Looking forward to ALASKA next year hope to see you there.
