    Many Thanks again to Dale Strother for hosting the annual Gooberfest (Ullerfest) at his beautiful home. As always, ETMM had a wonderful time beckoning to the God of snow for a white, successful ski season!

*    Gooberfest – October 30, 2009

This annual Wing Ding is scheduled for Dale’s house on Friday October 30th.  The timing will probably be from about 5:30 till the fire goes out.  There will be a fire, ski's and ski apparel to burn, good food, good drink, and whatever else we can do within a half mile of a Fire and Police station. Put this on your calendar.  We'll have a good time.  Contact Dale Strother’s for info.  Call at (W) 423-434-1820 or (H) 423-929-1527, or email at Dale Strother.

DIRECTIONS TO DALE’S HOME

                I’ll give these directions as if you are coming from Kingsport or Bristol.  If you live in Johnson City or Jonesboro, you should be able to pick them up from the University Parkway, and find the place with ease.

·         Come to Johnson City, and get on I-26 East like you are going to Erwin.

·         From I-26, take exit 31, this is the exit for Elizabethton, Milligan College, and East Tennessee State University.  This exit follows a sort of horseshoe pattern and at the end of the off ramp you will come into a traffic light.

·         Turn left at this light onto the University Parkway like you are heading for ETSU, and away from Elizabethton.

·         Once on the University Parkway you go 7/10ths of a mile.  This will take you through one traffic light, and bring you to a second.  The second light is at the intersection of State Route 67, also known as Cherokee Road.

·         Turn left at this traffic light onto Cherokee Road.  Once on Cherokee Road, my house is 2/10ths of a mile on the right.  Between the light and my house also on the right you will pass the Clarence Eades Fire Station, and Cherokee Animal Hospital (our own Beth Dison’s place of business), then cross Delaney Bridge over a set of railroad tracks.  My driveway is right at the end of the bridge guardrail.

·         It is a fairly large log house that sits on a slight rise in the trees.  I will have all the outside lights on, and some signs and balloons on the mailbox.  There is a circular driveway with plenty of parking in the yard.  Just try to pull far enough off that others can come and go as they need to.
