Silver Creek Finals...
You know you're a true skier when the
weather channel says it's going to be 70-plus degs. and you search in
vain for an Artic blast to magically appear and somehow decide to
localize at Snowshoe, WV. Unfortunately, the winds were coming out of
the South without the slightest bit of a possible Antarctic chill. But
as it turned out, we had two great days of skiing in some beautiful
sunshine (Thank god no rain early in the weekend as originally
predicted!). The conditions of course were soft, but after all, we are
the mogul mashers and managed to mash our way to a second place finish
trophy to go along with our Southern Division Championship! Besides
tanning while we skied, (there was even a bikini-clad racer) we got to
enjoy each others company with a party Friday night at Lisa Beregi's
followed by the race finals party on Saturday night. I must say,
Saturday night was a little tense as the final results for the Crescent
cup were being announced with a 3-way tie for second, with Palmetto
dashing our hopes for the cup. But, we'll get-em next year! (They
definitely had the weather advantage...). Also, congratulations to Lisa
Beregi for winning the trip to Steamboat due to her awesome skiing with
the most accumulated points! It was a Great weekend and an outstanding
way to end the ski season...Hats-off to Mark Mabry and the team!
